I am having the same kind of problems you are.  I just wish I had seen your page before I hired these bums.

June 6, 2003:

After on on-site estimate on April 21 2003, I agreed to have topical Gutters
install guttering at my residence.  They first came out on June 4 2003 to do
the installation at which time I requested a different gutter color.  The said
they would come out the next day, June 5, to do the installation since the did
not have the color I requested necessary to do the installation.  On June 5,
they came to do the installation and I requested before work commenced, that I
would appreciate that they take the necessary steps when installing the
guttering to not crack the roof fascia board as this is a very costly repair.  They
assured me that that would not happen and proceeded with the installation.
The machine used to extrude the guttering was not working correctly and
scratched and gouged the guttering.  They installed a length of guttering anyway
before they called the problem in and were told to stop work.  The installers told
me that they would return on June 7 to redo the job and they would take down
the length of guttering that they had installed.  I left temporarily, but when
I returned I found that where they had installed the length of guttering, the
roof fascia had cracked because of improper nailing.  I contacted the company
on the morning of June 6 and had to call them again at 1:30pm after nobody
had returned my call.  The lady whom I spoke with (she would not give her name)
stated that her boss (whose mane she would not give either) said that Tropical
Gutters declines to complete the job because it was "problematic".  I told
her of the damage of the attempted installation from the previous day and she
said they would not repair it and that I had made the claim of the damage up in
retaliation for them declining the job.  She would not let me speak to the
manager (who she said had just a few minutes ago left for a week long trip) and

said that I had no recourse and I could contact whomever I wanted on the matter.

Same terrible experience with company. It has been 1 year and no one has come
out to repair all the mistakes. This is after probably 30 calls and 30 promises.
I contacted BBB regarding this and filed a compliant. Then wrote to Dept of Agriculture
and filed a complaint. The Dept of Ag sent them 3 letters asking for mediation and they
refused to answer any of the request.

I am now trying to locate the owner's name so I can file a small claim case
against them. However I'm lost as to where to obtain this info. If you could help I
would appreciate it very much. I am at my wits end dealing with this company. And if i see their truck at
any location I will stop and advise the homeowner of all the problems I have had with
them. Any help you can contribute would be appreciated.

Hi,
My name is Joyce and I just read your page on the internet regarding Tropical Gutters. I only wish I had read it in October of 2001!
Nov 2001  I had  "seamless gutters" installed on my home, a length of 51 feet that should have been seamless.
I arrived home to find a seam because the installer said he didn't have enough material on the truck to do the job with out a seam.
After many annoying phone calls, such as yourself, I now find myself going to a hearing in May with Consumer Affairs.
I read on your site that you finally got a "fix" but how did you go about it?
I'm not sure I even want them back on my property.  I just want the money to have a reputable company reinstall seamless gutters.

Thanks for your time and your webpage!
Joyce
