03/07/04: Yesterday ,Circuit City listed a 200gig hard drive for $79 so I made a print out of the ad off their website and went to the store to try to purchase it. but I was told that they were not able to honor that because it was a typo. i love how they always talk about price matching and then they take no responsibility when they screw up. I am going to stop shopping there. False advertising is not cool.

6/02/03: BMW Roadside Assistance: Consumers beware. I found out today that the "Roadside Assistance" that was part of the User Agreement offered with the BMW card (Visa) only covers BMWs. I had a tire blow out today and when I called to have someone come help me change my tires, the lady that answered at 1.800.332.4269 told me it was only for BMWs.
She kept saying that if I needed Roadside assistance that it would cost me since I did not have a BMW. And I tried to explain to her that the agreement stated that I didn't need a BMW, that all I needed was my credit card with me and she said that I was wrong.
So, when I called BMW's Customer Service, they told me that it is not only for BMWs. I advised her to call the "Roadside Assistance" group and advise them. And while she was at it, to cancel my account. I refuse to pay $50 a year for a card that do not deliver on their promises.
One of the main reasons I kept this card for so long was that it offered, so I thought, Roadside Assistance. God, I hope their cars are more reliable.

5/9/03 : I have decided to never ever patronize Pep Boys again. In the last 5yrs or so, I have had this same experience twice. I went to the service desk and waited 5 minutes before anyone helped me. When this guy named Edgar finally came to help me, I asked him how long it would take to get an oil change. I specifically requested Synthetic Mobil One, which they charge about $20 extra for. But I was ok with paying that since my car is getting oil.
So he does all the paper work and gives me a receipt that has the in time as 4:47pm. He advised me that it will take 1.5 to 2hrs. I told him that I was going to wait for it and to please call me if it took less then 2hrs. He writes down my cell number.. and so i spent the next two hours walking around the shopping center.
At 6:57pm, I went back to see that my car is still left in the spot I parked it in. And I thought, wow, they got the same spot. so I went inside to claim my car. But when i went inside, a guy without a name tag told me that my car was the next one to go in!!!! I politely asked for my key back and left.
That is ridiculous! Do they really expect customers to be ok with that ??????? Why wasn't I called when it wasn't going to be ready when promised?!?!?! I post the following letter to the Pep Boys Consumer relations site:
*** This is the worst experience I have ever had!!!!!!! I arrived at store #182 on Friday, May 9 at 4:47PM for an oil change. I waited in line for 10 minutes before someone named Edgar "Service Manager" wrote up my ticket.
I requested a Mobil 1 Synthetic oil change. I asked Edgar how long it will take and he advised me that it would take 1.5hrs to 2hrs. At 7:00, I returned to see that my car has not even been touched yet. It was in the same parking space I left it!!!!!
When I went in to see if they did any work on my car, a man without a name tag said it's the next one to go in!!!!
So I asked for my key back and left. I am appalled. I even requested that if the car got done earlier, to please call me since I was waiting for it. I never got a call.
I AM VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED in the level or service. ***
I don't blame consumers for not wanting to spend their money when this is the service we get.

April 8, 2003: I am
currently super steamed right now. I just got off the phone with the
claims adjuster from Progressive. One of their policyholders rear-ended me
Feb 25. It took this adjuster named Carina 1.5 months to get back to me
with a quote on the damages. I had to call her 3 times before she called me
back. It was very annoying. Same thing with the car rental.
She never told me my allowance, and when I called her, she never bother
calling me back. That is, until
today. Six days later.
And when I took it into the body shop, the original quote called for a new
bumper, but the agent at body shop said that the damage could be repaired.
